Oh how the tables have turned! It sure does feel good to be on top after a dominant performance this week. I hit not just one but TWO Brothers Battle picks over Robert this week further confirming that my picks are the real picks. In the co-main event Virna Jandiroba did what Virna Jandiroba does and grinded out a decision victory with elite wrestling. Jandiroba easily won rounds one and two by dragging Ricci down and landing effective strikes from top position. Ricci tried to mount a comeback in round three but Jandiroba’s experience and determination paid off as she was able to land one last takedown to seal the deal. Ricci looked super unimpressive overall so not sure what my brother was thinking there. Poor little guy.
In the main event Renato “Money” Moicano proved there are levels to this game as he was able to put Chris Duncan away in under 10 minutes. I really thought Duncan would be a real challenge but Moicano was on point in every way. His striking was sharp and impressive, landing very nice 1-2 combinations on Duncan. But what stood out the most was Moicano’s absolute domination on the ground. Duncan is a competent grappler but Moicano sliced right through him. Once he took Duncan’s back it was all over. Some people thought Moicano was done but he proved he’s still very much a contender at lightweight.
So with these two dubs my Brothers Battle record stands at 4-2. An insurmountable lead as far as Robert is concerned. I’m warning everyone right now to beware of his busted picks. My picks are the real picks. Long time.

I absolutely suck. I am now down 4-2 after Duncan and Ricci were absolutely destroyed by my brother Chris’s picks. And I honestly had a gut feeling that I was going to be the loser of losers the morning of fight night. With Moicano, I began to think more about the damage he put on BSD in their fight. He battered BSD into oblivion, which caused me to start thinking that his striking skillset and power is underrated. Then, I thought about Duncan’s inexperience compared to Moicano. He has not fought the same level of competition as Moicano, which I thought could end up being a problem for Duncan. Guess what? It was a BIG problem and Duncan was deep fried on every level of MMA. My love for Duncan’s style got in the way of the logic that tried to enter my heart Saturday morning.
The same can be said bout my Ricci pick, who I began to have immense doubts about after watching her fight against Yan Xionan. She looked like she did not know how to properly strike or control distance, which struck fear in my heart because Jandiroba’s striking has improved and her grappling is elite. Virna proved that she is on an entirely other level than Ricci in every aspect of MMA – even coming off a failed title shot with very little momemntum in sight. I should have trusted my doubts based on her poor performance when watching the tape… but I stuck to my guns and am now paying the ultimate price of defeat. I am ready to come back to UFC 327 stronger than ever! I will beat Chris in the picks, in UFC 5, and in our Brother’s Battle of the Week! VICTORY SHALL BE MINE!
