For UFC Fight Night: Evloev vs. Murphy – Chris picked 10/13 fights correctly & Robert picked 9/13 fights correctly.

I am victorious! Was it a pretty victory? No. Was it a robbery on the scorecards? Potentially. But a dub is a dub! Hats off to my brother, Chris. He once again had high-quality picks overall and scored 10/13 picks correctly! Whereas I scored 9/13 picks correctly. Chris was so close to the land of victory, which he was especially confident in after picking the first 7 fights right. But the main event? My man Evloev got the W in a very close contest, which is exactly what I needed to go up 2-1 in our Brother’s Battle Breakdowns!

Even more important than my epic victory over Chris? We hit our DAWG of the week: Nathaniel Wood! He gave the UFC newcomer, Losene Keita, a war on his debut! It was a great scrap and a much-deserved win for Wood. I sincerely hope that Wood gets an opportunity higher up in his division. As for the bad, Sam Patterson could not have been more of a disappointment. He stared at MVP and seemed frozen for the entire 15 minutes. I had foolish confidence that he would be able to make the fight ugly and take MVP out. But he did not even try! The other horrible call I must take credit for was Kurtis Campbell. He was absolutely smoked by Danny Silva, and I could not have been more impressed. Sutherland was also destroyed by Peričić, I was an absolute fool for that pick, thinking that Peričić would gas out.

Very clean performances by Luke Riley, Christian Leroy Duncan, Mason Jones, and Mantas Kondratavičius – all of whom earned spectacular and dominant decisions. We have to talk about Mario Pinto, though… He is certainly solid as a fighter, but I think he might lack that consistent killer instinct. But perhaps Franco is much better than people gave him credit for prior to the fight. I certainly counted him out against Pinto and that cost me my does not start round 3 pick of the week! I plan to bounce back with even more correct picks, a winning DAWG, and a successful pick of the week this upcoming Fight Night.

The Seattle card next week looks more juiced to the gills than Chris’s ego. And that’s saying something because this man’s confidence has been to the moon. UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs. Pyfer is going to be an epic card. I plan to go up 3-1 shortly in our Brother’s Battle Breakdowns! Chris will really have to start his Rocky Training Camp to Get Good after that!

There is something very wrong going on in the world because I have somehow lost two brothers battles in a row. Robert is not supposed to win anything especially when he goes up against me. His boy Evloev somehow won a decision against Lerone Murphy in a fight that was mostly a striking battle. I really thought Murphy would dominate Evloev on the feet. Now it was a very close fight and could have really gone either way but I have to give respect to Evloev for holding his own against Murphy in the stand up game. Evloev did mix in a little wrestling but was mostly content to trade strikes with Lerone and did quite well at it. Neither man really landed anything significant through 5 rounds but it did seem to be like Evloev did just a bit more to earn the decision. Thankfully I did destroy Robert jn our UFC 5 matchup so at least not everything has taken a turn for the worse.

Looking at the rest of the card we both picked Luke Riley to beat Michael Aswell and he did so in impressive fashion outstriking Aswell over three rounds. We both missed on Sam Patterson who lost a very boring decision to Michael Page. I’ve never been a fan of Michael page and I don’t think here and any new fans with this lackluster fight. I really hope they give him an elite wrestler to deal with next time. Moving on, Baraniewski obliterated Austen Lane as we both expected with a quick first round knockout. We also both accurately predicted Christian Leroy Duncan to defeat Dolidze. Duncan dominated the unimpressive Dolidze for three rounds.

Before that we had a big surprise of the night when Danny Silva absolutely destroyed Kurtis Campbell. “The Pink Panther” was previously undefeated before he ran into Silva’s fists of fury. Robert and I both picked Campbell here but we will keep an eye on Siva going forward. And then we have the “Fight of the Night” between Mason Jones and Axel Sola which went as we both expected. It was an extremely entertaining battle that went back and forth for a while until Jones took over.

Now we come to my favorite pick from the card. The Brothers agreed that Nathaniel Wood was the underdog of the night with odds right around +200. It was a very close fight and his opponent Losene Keita looked much improved from previous performances but “The Last Kingsman” came through and edged out a split decision victory by pushing the pace just a little bit more than his opponent. Thank you Nathaniel Wood!

Now to wrap things up. Mario Pinto and Mantas Kondratavicius both cruised to comfortable decision wins over Felipe Franco and Antonio Trocoli respectively, but neither victor got the finish we were looking for. Brando Pericic took out Louie Sutherland with minimal effort. Robert was convinced Sutherland had a chance in that fight. LOL. “Big Al” Al-Selwady earned a tough decision victory over Shem Rock. That win earned me a sweet $5 from Roberto. Long time. And in the first fight of the card Shanelle Dyer picked up a spectacular TKO over Ravena Oliveira. Dyer used an impressive combination of punches, kicks and knees to put her opponent down.

Overall this week I went 10 for 13 on fight picks which is great! I am especially happy that I hit my ultimate pick of the week with Pericic stopping the fight with Sutherland before round 3. As I mentioned before, hitting the underdog of the week in Nathaniel Wood was most excellent as well. But none of that makes up for the awful fact that Robert is now ahead of me 2-1 in the Brothers at Odds battles. That is absolutely unacceptable. But I promise all of you one thing. I will get good! Next week is mine!!
